Stress-Free Dentistry

Stress-Free Dentistry

Our patients rave about their experience at Millennium Smiles, and it starts when they walk into the office. They are greeted by one of our super friendly staff members with a huge smile. In the background, we have an assortment of scents; some of them include eucalyptus, lavender, lemongrass, and more in order to provide a warm, welcoming environment. Then one of our team members will give all new patients a tour of our office. Then, while the patient is in their room, we have a massage chair to relax them during cleanings or dental procedures. You can also listen to music of your choice and have the room illuminated with your favorite color by our LED lights. Then, when you have finished your cleaning or dental treatment, you receive a warm towel to soothe and relax you.

Advanced Office Technology

Advanced Office Technology

Here at Millennium Smiles, we use the latest and greatest dental technology to get the most accurate data for our patients. Our CADCAM milling machine allows us to do same-day crowns for patients so that they do not have to make multiple trips to our office. We also have an iTero that can digitally scan the patient’s teeth and arch for surgical guides, Invisalign simulations (before and after photos if they did Invisalign), and to develop “digital impressions” for Invisalign trays and retainers. Patients going through TMJ therapy also receive MLS laser treatments (Multiwave Locked System) which is a patented, FDA-cleared technology designed to produce an efficient and simultaneous effect on pain, inflammation, and swelling within a short period of time. This significantly aids in healing and produces more ATP (Adenosine triphosphate) in each cell.

Treating TMJD and Sleep Apnea

Treating TMJD and Sleep Apnea

To heal the TMJ (temporomandibular joint), we use oral appliances that are not noticeable to other people. The patient wears a day and night-time appliance for 10-12 weeks, and then they wean off of the day-time appliance. We may then follow up TMJ therapy with orthodontics. TMJ therapy is important in keeping the uncomfortable symptoms of TMJ from returning. We are also able to provide sleep-apnea appliances, these can in some cases, be used in place of a CPAP machine because it has been shown they have the same efficacy in reducing the severity of the apnea.

From Toddlers to Grandparents

From Toddlers to Grandparents

In addition to seeing adults, Dr. Korous loves seeing kids as well! We provide gifts and balloon animals for the kids that visit our practice so that they get excited about visiting the dentist. Dr. Korous is able to identify when children might be experiencing breathing issues or other developmental problem. This allows us to fix the problem early on and prevent them from having problems as adults. Some symptoms commonly seen in kids are bed-wetting, ADHD/ADD symptoms, hyperactivity, improper posture, lips, tongue and cheek ties, crowding teeth, narrow dental arches, and tongue and face muscles not functioning properly. It may seem strange to think that kids can have airway problems, but in reality, all of those symptoms are related to some sort of airway blockage. Dr. Korous has already helped identify moderate sleep apnea in a 9-year-old boy, stopped a 7-year-old boy from wetting the bed, and so much more. Here at Millennium Smiles, we focus on the link between oral health and overall health.

MLS Dental Laser

MLS Dental Laser

If you have experienced pain in the jaw, as well as stiffness or other issues, MLS dental laser treatment can help alleviate discomfort. It is a revolutionary and highly effective non-invasive way to manage pain using light waves. The treatment increases the circulation of blood in the local area, soothing muscle aches and pains as well as stiffness in the joints. Arthritis-associated joint pain is also reduced by this treatment method, and the muscles are relaxed. Muscle pain can benefit greatly from MLS dental lasers as a trigger point therapy method for alleviating muscle pain. Inflammation in the area will be soothed and your pain level will decrease.

Myobrace

Myobrace

Are you looking to achieve straighter teeth without getting braces? The Myobrace is a system that works by preventing the underlying causes of orthodontic issues such as crooked teeth. Here at Millennium Smiles, we focus on the link between oral health and overall health. It is most effective with children between the ages of 3 and 15 years old. The system uses a series of intra-oral appliances that are removable. They are meant to be worn for an or two during the day and while sleeping. They benefit children by aligning the jaw while it is still developing, straightening teeth, correcting the resting position of the tongue, optimizing facial development, and promoting healthy habits and oral hygiene.

Myofunctional Therapy

Myofunctional Therapy

We are able to help patients of all ages treat their myofunctional disorders. With myofunctional therapy, we train the tongue and face muscles to rest and function properly with the latest therapeutic techniques. When Dr. Korous suspects that there may be a problem with the tongue and the way it functions, we immediately consult with the patient so that they can be seen by our myofunctional therapist. She will then put together a treatment plan that outlines the techniques our patients will use. If children need to wear a Myobrace to help expand their arches and teach them to keep their lips closed and rest their tongue in the proper position, this will be discussed in detail. Waiting until permanent teeth have grown in can make the process for correcting orthodontic issues much more tedious and lead to damage in teeth that is irreversible. Younger children learn important habits, such as how to breathe through the nose and swallow correctly with Myobrace technology. The system also widens the jaws so that there is enough room in the mouth for permanent teeth to grow in straight without braces.

Joint Vibrations Analysis

Joint Vibrations Analysis

Temporomandibular joints, or TMJs, are the foundation of your stomatognathic system. If the joints aren’t stable, your dental occlusion will not be stable either. To treat TMJ issues, Dr. Korous uses JVA to collect data about your dental health properly and create an effective treatment for your issues. Proper data collection allows your treatment to be implemented quicker and allows patients to be increasingly accepted based on their oral and dental health and JVA information. Results will be triaged to increase the treatment options for patients. If TMJ treatment is not given to patients, it can result in significant pain associated with the dysfunction in the jaw joints and muscles. Patients may experience problems with chewing, clicking of the jaw, pain upon waking up, tension in the jaw and neck, and more.

T-Scan Novus

T-Scan Novus

It is now possible to force the timing as well as the balance of dental occlusion. Time will be saved, and patients will not have to return to the office for additional dental work. This valuable tool lets dentists like Dr. Korous analyze a patient’s bite and determine whether or not the bite is properly aligned and functioning. Examinations of new patients and their dental hygiene along with T-Scan technology lets Dr. Korous gain more insight into a patient’s dental health and provide an accurate diagnosis, reducing waiting time for patient treatment. Patients are more likely to be accepted into esthetic cases as long as they have received comprehensive presentation of their case.

Skill, Expertise, Specialization

Skill, Expertise, Specialization

Doctors typically require 12 continuing education hours per year, but Dr. Korous has over 800 continuing education hours. She is completely devoted to ensuring that treatment plans for patients are beneficial to their dental health and hygiene. She not only benefits their smile but focuses on the health of their entire body. At Millennium Smiles, we do airway-focused orthodontics. This means that instead of just aligning the teeth, Dr. Korous focuses on why they shifted in the first place. Dr. Korous also makes sure that her staff is well educated, so they often attend continuing education classes alongside her. All patients that go into the office for their comprehensive exam are not only checked for cavities and periodontal health, but also receive information on their TMJ, airway, face, and tongue muscles and how they function.

State-of-the-Art Facility

State-of-the-Art Facility

Our facility is equipped with the latest dental technology to make sure our patients receive comprehensive and precise care. We use digital x-rays to significantly reduce the amount of radiation you and your child are exposed to during regular examinations. These images let our dental staff see a clearer picture of what is going on inside the mouth and determine a better plan of action to correct dental issues. We also use digital bite impression technology to increase the comfort of our patients while getting a more in-depth look at the structure of their teeth. Our advanced methods of eliminating tooth decay can result in your child getting cavity-causing decay removed without the need for local anesthesia and drills. Our goal is to give patients the care they need in the more effective and comfortable way, and our technology allows us to do that without sacrificing quality or taking the focus away from the patient’s individual needs.
